The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term expires Nov. 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting and outlined a process to fill the unexpired term.
Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the board discussed outreach steps because this is an appointment to fill the seat rather than an election. The board consensus was for Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property owners’ association manager to e-blast residents in The Meadows about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements, and ask interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest prior to the next meeting.
On a motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly, the board accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation (unanimous). Staff indicated that the oath of office materials, required ethics training guidance, and disclosure forms will be provided to any appointed candidate as part of the onboarding process.
