Premier Lakes update: NPDES report filed; nano-bubbler relocation and storm cleanup approved

Mr. Mark Zordan reported that the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report was reviewed and approved by Lee County and will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in advance of the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline. He advised staff to continue into Year 8 pending issuance of a new permit.

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes said the lakes are in generally good condition post-storm but one nano-bubbler machine will require repair. The board and staff discussed proposals to relocate a nano-bubbler and related electrical work (including consideration of a 'zombie box') because one unit sits very near a homeowner's lanai; Mr. Willis will revisit the electrical proposals with the contractor and confer with Mr. Kurth after the meeting.

The board also ratified an emergency Precision Cleaning, Inc. street sweeping engagement for storm cleanup: the vendor performed eight passes and removed eight loads of debris, and the one-time cost approved was $1,475; staff were authorized to add week-to-week cleanings for the next month if necessary.
