Staff reported that the Water Modernization Project is ongoing and emphasized that the project will factor into broader infrastructure capacity planning needed for future development. C.A. Fiorelli framed water system planning as one of several prerequisites — along with wastewater, transportation and stormwater work — before significant new development can proceed.
Commissioners sought clarity on how water improvements would be timed relative to potential growth on Monroe's north side and flagged the need for a Buildable Lands Inventory and system-capacity analysis to inform land-use decisions. Staff said these analyses are forthcoming and will be used to guide funding and sequencing decisions.
