Putney Selectboard establishes steering committee to update library Memorandum of Understanding

The Selectboard voted unanimously at its June 24 meeting to form a steering committee charged with updating the 2018 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that governs capital improvements to the town-owned Putney Public Library. Town Manager recommended the committee composition and scope; Peg Alden volunteered to serve and Aileen Tulloch moved the motion to form the group.
Under the motion the committee will consist of two library trustees (past or present) and one Selectboard member with the Library Director and Town Manager serving as non-voting members. The steering committee will draft a charge statement and return it to the Selectboard for approval. The Town Manager clarified she does not have authority over library capital improvements or library staff, which is why the committee structure separates voting membership and non-voting staff participation.
