Superintendent Dr. Kalls reported that the district will place a sinking-fund renewal before voters on Aug. 4, 2026 that would permit the district to replace aging school buses without increasing taxes or extending the current sinking fund. "A yes vote would help us purchase school buses without any increase to your taxes," Dr. Kalls said.
Dr. Kalls also announced a $10,000 donation from the Demmer family and Jack Demmer Ford to support the district’s family resource center, noting the contribution will help provide clothing, laundry soap and school supplies for students in need. Board members and staff welcomed the donation and urged community support for the sinking-fund renewal, clarifying the renewal updates authorization language to align with changes in Michigan law.
