The Wayne-Westland Community School District Board of Education voted to approve a one-year renewal of two Lightspeed products to continue internet filtering and classroom monitoring.
A staff presenter read the finance committee recommendation that the board approve the Lightspeed Filter and Lightspeed Classroom renewal in the amount of $62,370 for the contract period 08/19/2026 through 08/18/2027, with funding from the district general fund. "I recommend that the Board of Education approve the license renewal in the amount of $62,370 for the contract period of 08/19/2026 through 08/18/2027," the presenter said.
Board members moved to approve the business service and finance items as presented. The motion was moved by Mr. Cox and supported by Dr. Weaver; a roll-call vote recorded a majority of yes votes and the motion passed. The approval implements the committee recommendation and continues the district's internet-filtering services into the 2026–27 contract year.
