Henry County commissioners approve routine business, grants and maintenance orders

Henry County’s Board of Commissioners opened its Wednesday meeting with the pledge, a short prayer and a series of routine approvals. Chair called for motions to approve the prior meeting’s minutes, claims and payroll; motions were made and seconded and each carried by voice vote, recorded as "motion carries 3 0."
The board also approved the monthly weights-and-measures report for June 16 through July 15 and a $21,681 affidavit related to Little League payments to Bridal Concrete. The health department requested and received approval to join a letter of intent for a $250,000 grant to expand women’s health services. Later, the board approved a work order for elevator repairs from TK Elevator contingent on a staff review and adopted an IPEP resolution that sets the annual workers’ compensation standard premium at $437,842 and an annual contribution amount of $302,110.
"All in favor signify by saying aye," Chair said repeatedly during roll-call votes; each motion was recorded as carrying 3-0. The meeting concluded after the chair solicited public comment, heard none, and the board moved to adjourn.
