Superintendent praises student-led summit and outlines outreach ahead of levy

Superintendent Scott Pete (S3) reported that the district hosted a student voice summit involving students from Wapato, Prosser, Sunnyside, Toppenish and Selah. He praised student leadership for running sessions and said the summit included sessions on communicating with administrators, practice in interview skills and student-led Q&A sessions.
Pete said the district will host another student-led summit later in April and highlighted outreach efforts connected to the levy, including presentations to staff and community updates on the district website and social media. He also reported on community support following the death of a local resident, noting the district assisted the family with community resources.
The superintendent's report was informational and required no board vote.
