The Grandview School District board received a proclamation declaring January 2026 as School Board Recognition Month, read aloud by a board presenter. The proclamation, attributed to Governor Bob Ferguson, thanked locally elected school directors and cited that Washington districts serve more than 1,100,000 students with a combined annual budget in excess of $16,000,000,000.
Presenter (S3) read the proclamation in full: "Now, therefore, I, Bob Ferguson, governor of the state of Washington, do hereby proclaim January 2026 as school board recognition month in Washington." Board members received certificates from the state board as part of the recognition.
Board members thanked staff and volunteers for service and took photos with award recipients. The acknowledgment was placed early on the agenda and required no board action other than receipt.
