Parent and retired teacher urge board to explain late removal of Sedalia Elementary walls

Decker also said Sedalia has eight special-education classrooms, some with nonverbal students who may vocalize loudly, and that removing partitions late could leave classrooms vulnerable if doors are not closed properly. She urged the board to use the permanent improvement fund—not the building fund—for any corrective work and stressed the role of SROs coming from Madison Township and Groveport in maintaining community safety.
The board acknowledged the concern during public comment; the superintendent and other members discussed facilities planning generally in subsequent agenda items and indicated plans for facility work would be brought forward with appropriate funding requests.
