Select Board: concrete walls done and framing planned for August at new fire station

The Select Board received a construction update for the new fire station: "We finished the concrete walls today (7/6/26) and stripped the last of the forms," Chair Norman Brown said. He added that perimeter drainage is complete and that plumbers and electricians will soon install interior piping and wiring; backfilling is underway and crews aim to pour the floor and start framing on Aug. 3 with a 15–20 person crew.
Brown described structural choices for the building: thicker 2x8 wall construction with a 14-foot clearance for the apparatus bays, and said the town's fire department moved equipment to allow use of the parking lot during the town parade. The board did not vote on additional spending, but members discussed scheduling and contractor logistics.
