City reports Flovac tank replacement and vacuum-pump overhaul
Summary
On June 23, 2026 staff reported replacement of a leaking tank at 105 Picnic Drive with a new Flovac tank, completion and off-site storage of a backup vacuum pump, and work to repair a cracked vacuum-pump exhaust filter and related oil and radiator maintenance.
Sewer Manager and Wastewater Operator Chad Morrow told the Mayor and Council that the old tank at 105 Picnic Drive was removed and replaced with a new Flovac tank after crews found the old tank leaking and sitting lower than surrounding ground. The minutes record the replacement as completed work.
Morrow also reported that a vacuum pump has been completed and is being stored at the Lions Club as a backup unit. He said Vacuum Pump #1 had a cracked exhaust filter that led to excess oil consumption and elevated operating temperatures; staff replaced the exhaust filters, installed new oil (switching from Shell Tellus 32 to ISO 100), fitted a new oil sight glass, cleaned radiators, and returned the pump to normal operation.
