Finance staff presented a recommended tax differential rate for the Town of North Beach as part of the FY2027 budget discussions. "The county's real property tax rate for fiscal year 2026 is 0.967 per $100 of assessed value," staff said, and recommended an adjusted tax differential rate of 0.362 per $100 for North Beach in FY2027 to reflect municipal services provided within town limits.
The North Beach mayor (introduced as Miss Rossello) thanked the board, saying the adjustment helps residents avoid double taxation and eases household budgets amid rising costs. Commissioners then moved, seconded and approved the adjusted rate by voice vote. Staff said the tax differential is expected to reduce county revenue by approximately $88,000 in the coming fiscal year.
