Ogden council approves land transfer to Division Rowhomes LLC over resident objections

Ogden City Council voted July 14 to authorize the transfer of city-owned real estate to Division Rowhomes LLC despite public opposition.
Councilwoman Lori Anderson moved to authorize the transfer and issue a deed to Division Rowhomes LLC; Councilman Dave Ohlson seconded. The motion passed with four ayes (Crane, Ohlson, Reimers, Anderson) and one opposed (Councilman Denny Good). The vote followed a public hearing that ran from about 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., during which residents presented a petition and multiple speakers raised concerns about the proposed rental development.
Residents told the council they opposed any development on the parcel behind their homes and expressed worries about safety, pets and property impacts. The council record shows Jim McClain spoke on behalf of a group of residents who submitted a petition opposing the Coterie/Division Rowhomes LLC project.
