The Town of Thomaston voted on June 18 to approve a five-year Municipal Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials Collection Agreement with CWPM LLC of Plainville, Connecticut, to begin July 1, 2026. The Warning posted prior to the meeting states the annual cost is specified in the agreement and "to be appropriated by the town in the annual budget for each fiscal year for said purpose." The Board of Selectmen and the First Selectman were authorized to execute the agreement and "take all steps necessary or convenient for said purpose," according to the Warning. Copies of the contract are on file with the Town Clerk for public inspection.
The approval followed routine procedural motions at the start of the Special Town Meeting called to order by First Selectman Richard A. Sileo.
