During the Jan. 27 meeting, committee members examined options for creating a community tool-lending resource. Chair Ryan Haac said his chief concerns were ongoing responsibility for lending/returns and finding a secure, accessible location; he recommended expanding the Baxter Library’s Library of Things rather than creating a separate shed.
Cat Buxton suggested kick-starting the effort with a grant to improve infrastructure and proposed a resident survey to identify the most useful tools and items. Jill Wilcox agreed to arrange a site visit to the Red Barn in Strafford so the committee could evaluate a successful lending-library model and speak with its operators. The committee also noted the Sharon Community Nurse as a possible partner for needs assessment among health‑service clients.
