Mayor Jim Wise presented the council's Annual City Appointments for 2025 at the Jan. 8 meeting. Appointments included Mike Katschman as Mayor Pro‑tem, Amanda Caraway as City Clerk/Treasurer, Gary Armstrong as City Attorney, and committee assignments for finance, cemetery, library, streets, pool, water/sewer and other municipal functions.
The council also set the first budget workshop for Jan. 29 at 5:15 p.m. at the Fire Station (810 Birch) to begin preparing the FY 2026 budget. Councilmembers approved a $1,000 contribution to the Iowa Lakes Corridor for the next fiscal year during the meeting.
