TCEQ begins 2028 renewal work on Construction General Permit; stakeholder meetings held

Benjamin (Benjamin Dixon), a project lead and permit writer with TCEQ Stormwater, told the advisory work group that the team has initiated the 2028 renewal of the Construction General Permit (CGP TXR-a150,000), presented preliminary proposed changes to stakeholders at a meeting on 06/09/2026, collected informal comments through 06/23/2026, and is drafting the CGP and associated fact sheet.
Dixon said staff will undertake internal reviews and management review, then send the draft permit to EPA Region 6 for a 90-day review tentatively scheduled for fall 2026.
