County highway staff presented an unofficial memorandum of understanding for a structural replacement project on State Road 56 west of French Lick and asked the commissioners to authorize signature of the detour MOU.
Highway superintendent Carl described the proposed unofficial detour route through county roads and said the state is estimating a 21-day closure during construction. “This unofficial detour is for a structural replacement on State Road 56 west of French Lehi... they are estimating a 21 day closure on this,” Carl said. Commissioners approved the MOU by voice vote and asked staff to capture before-and-after photos and notify impacted residents and adjoining counties about routing.
The county also noted a separate, locally funded tire-recycling dumpster project tied to the Solid Waste District grant (see separate item). The MOU motion passed in the meeting (transcript record: Approved 3 0).
