The council on April 15 approved Resolution No. 2025-R-16 authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with the Salt Lake County Election Division to provide election services for Midvale’s 2025 municipal election. Rori Andreason explained the county will bill actual costs and noted an added administration fee and the ranked-choice voting (RCV) license allocation.
Staff provided a cost-estimate table that shows primary and general election scenarios and explained the RCV software license will be billed to any entity electing to use ranked-choice voting; the full software cost ($26,250) will be divided equally among participating entities and invoiced after May 1, 2025. Council voted to approve the contract on a unanimous roll-call vote (one member absent).
