Wendelin Knobloch explained that although planning commissioners have been paid $50 per meeting since 2016, the code still stated a $20 stipend. The proposed amendment to Section 17-4-1 brings the code into alignment with practice and clarifies that the City Council determines stipend amounts through the budget process.
No public comments were received. Council Member Paul Glover moved to approve Ordinance No. 2025-O-07, and the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote with Council Member Bryant Brown absent. Staff said the edit corrects a clerical inconsistency and places compensation decisions where they are handled annually: in the budget.
