Planning commission schedules follow-ups; Commissioner Conant to retire this summer

Staff announced continued work on the land use code update, new state-required bylaws and training deadlines, and an upcoming housing task force update; Commissioner Carolyn Conant said she will retire from the commission in the summer.
During closing items Associate Planner Johanna Blanco said staff will continue work on the land use code update, the commission must update bylaws to meet new state training requirements, and she will provide a housing task force update at an upcoming meeting. Community Development Director Cory Shurtleff added that staff will attend a recap of the recent legislative session to summarize statewide land use changes.
Commission Member Carolyn Conant announced she plans to retire from the Planning Commission in the summer. Staff noted the bylaw update deadline and training requirements and indicated they will bring these items back to the commission for action and public notice.
