Superintendent signals plan to reduce district staffing by 4 FTE amid enrollment decline

"Given our continued enrollment decline and given that class sizes are below target thresholds in the district, our recommendation is to reduce staffing by 4 FTE across the district through attrition in order to align staffing with enrollment," Dr. Jensen said. He emphasized the goal was to achieve alignment with minimal disruption and noted other funding sources such as TSSA and trust lands will follow in the spring budget process.
Board discussion affirmed the need to review FTE, class sizes and enrollment projections before finalizing personnel actions. The superintendent noted staffing and budget approvals proceed on a cycle and that final budget actions are completed later in the fiscal cycle.
