Board adds MacBook replacement fee and cord fee to high-school fee schedule

The board added a MacBook replacement fee and a MacBook cord replacement fee to the high-school fee schedule as an amendment to the fees previously set this spring.
District staff explained the fee structure: an ongoing $75 enrollment covers AppleCare repairs (screen replacements and similar fixes, usually handled), while a full replacement for a lost or stolen device would require a separate $499 replacement fee. "That covers AppleCare... that $75 fee will cover that. But if the student loses their device... then it has to be paid for them... that's the $499 replacement," a staff member explained during the school-fees hearing.
There was no public opposition during the hearing and the board voted to approve the amended schedule. The amendment applies to the high school's MacBook program and will be reflected in the published fee schedule.
