Millcreek approves $5,000 allocation to East Mill Creek Community Council

City Manager Mike Winder and Finance Director Lisa Dudley reviewed a request from the East Mill Creek Community Council for up to $5,000 in city funding. Winder commended the council’s responsible budgeting and Dudley reported staff and the 10-8-2 study found the request appropriate.
Dudley noted the community council provided budget details for permits, office supplies and insurance, and the city has historically provided similar funding upon request. The council opened and closed the public hearing with no comments and then voted unanimously to approve Ordinance 26‑12.
The allocation is intended to support local events such as Fourth of July celebrations and community outreach, and staff recommended the funds be distributed from existing budgets.
