The Steamboat Rock City Council voted unanimously on March 25 to approve the Proposed Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2027. The motion to approve the levy was made by Council member Kevin Pieters and seconded by Council member Marvin Veld; the motion passed by a unanimous vote of members present.
Mayor David Mull called the special session to order at 6:30 PM. Council members Kevin Pieters, Marvin Veld and Cory Schurman (participating by phone) were present; Marc Havens and Travis Hollander were absent. The approval of the proposed levy does not itself set a final rate; the council also scheduled a public hearing on the proposed FY2027 budget for April 13, 2026, which is the next formal step in the budget process.
