Carlin authorizes up to $21,000 to replace engine in ambulance #949

The City of Carlin approved purchasing a replacement engine for ambulance #949 at a cost not to exceed $21,000 after staff reported the vehicle's engine failed in April or May and replacement parts were needed.
Volunteer Fire Department representative Linda Bingaman said two vendor quotes were received (a third vendor did not respond) and that emissions parts had already been purchased and were at the shop. Public Works Joe Massa said either quoted engine would be acceptable and that a gasket kit would likely be needed. After discussion of quotes and total cost including shipping and gasket kit, the council voted unanimously to authorize the purchase not to exceed $21,000.
