City accepts offer of old forestry van; council ends interlocal contract

Mayor Dana Holbrook said he opposed renewing the two‑year interlocal contract as written because the Division of Forestry had previously been responsible for supervising inmate crews; Public Works staff and City Manager Richard Braithwaite reported that Public Works regularly uses the van to move crews. Councilmember Cameron Kinney noted the vehicle originally solved transport needs for inmate crews.
Councilmember Kinney moved to terminate the two‑year interlocal contract between the State (Division of Forestry) and the City of Carlin; Lyndsie Whigham seconded and the council voted unanimously to terminate the contract as discussed. Marcus Lesbo said he would follow up to complete the donation paperwork and title transfer if the city elects to keep the vehicle.
