Turner School District expands mobile meals after serving 2,000 this summer

Turner School District said its student-designed 'Hungry Like a Bear' food bus served more than 2,000 meals during its first summer and the district will expand mobile meal services; the district also announced its back-to-school bash on Aug. 5.

"We served over 2,000 meals out in the community," Lauren said, noting the bus was designed by students and is part of the district's free school-meal outreach to students who cannot access school meal sites. She said the district's back-to-school bash is Aug. 5 from 4–6:30 p.m. and is limited to Turner students (sign-in required).
Lauren said the district is updating local policy to align with the new state law restricting students' personal phone use during the school day and is seeking community donations and raffle-basket contributions to support school events.
