County approves intergovernmental agreements with Nelson, Woodstock and several purchases including rink resurfacing

County manager Martin presented six individual items and the board approved each by voice vote.
The board approved a 5‑year intergovernmental lease renewal with the City of Nelson for an unmanned Fire Station 26 on city‑owned land at Dogwood Pass; the renewal runs through Aug. 31, 2029, with an automatic five‑year renewal provision. The board also approved a revised IGA with the City of Woodstock clarifying maintenance responsibilities for roadways adjacent to city limits and updating terms to expire June 30, 2028.
On procurement, the board approved a purchase order to Georgia Patio for $38,814.83 to replace patio furniture at the conference center (funded in the 2024 budget). Recreation and Parks was authorized to buy 1 Ford Bronco Sport (not to exceed $31,000) and 1 Chevrolet Silverado (not to exceed $47,000) using SPLOST funds. The board awarded Talbot Tennis a $58,000 small construction and trades agreement to repave and resurface the inline roller hockey rink at the Woodstock Recreation Center; the Cherokee Hockey In Line League (CHILL) will donate $29,000 toward the project. Finally, the board approved an amendment to the Motorola maintenance agreement for a Vesta upgrade ($44,356.40) to allow the E911 system to receive calls over the upgraded ESInet. Each motion carried unanimously.
