County engineers outline paving, pipe and crack-sealing contracts totaling several hundred thousand dollars

The road superintendent said paving crews completed work in the Copper Springs area, are prepping Springville parking lots, and expect to finish a federal-aid Kelly Creek Road project ahead of schedule. For capital projects, staff presented a Price Road Boring bid of $78,868 to install a pipeline liner on County Road 26, noting the trenchless approach would avoid a 2–3 month closure if the pipe were replaced conventionally.
Staff also recommended a crack-sealing contract from Remac Inc. for Oak Springville Road and Mountain View Road at $135,638 and described a reclamite preservation treatment for County Road 42 that staff expect will extend the hot-mix asphalt life by about five years. "This is the same company that did Gallant Road and Pinedale Road about 2 years ago," the engineer said in support of the crack-seal vendor's prior performance. Commissioners discussed timing (many projects to be completed before the end of September) and funding status; staff said purchase orders were secured for projects recommended for immediate award.
