Karen McKenzie of instructional services presented three administrative regulations for board review and explained the red-line and final drafts appearing in the packet. She said IS‑2 adds the superintendent's expectations and updates nondiscrimination language; IS‑7 addresses curriculum adoption and requires stakeholder input and curriculum maps; and IS‑44 updates testing language, including a state change that moved an English end-of-course exam requirement from English I to English II.
McKenzie said these are updates for board knowledge and that legal and cross-checking work had been completed prior to bringing the red-line drafts forward. "We don't do it willy-nilly," she told the committee, describing the review process and noting that staff will return with final changes as needed after stakeholder and legal review.
