Mayor Thomas Gallagher and the council adopted a resolution appointing Drilon Fazliu as a patrol officer in the Old Tappan Police Department and administered the oath of office during the Sine Die meeting. The resolution, read by the acting council president, lists an effective appointment date of 02/04/2025 and directs certified copies be sent to the police chief and the officer.
The motion to adopt the resolution was seconded and carried on a roll call vote recorded in the meeting; the mayor administered the oath and council members and attendees congratulated the new officer. "That was my honor to administer the oath of office," Mayor Thomas Gallagher said as the officer was sworn and photographed with council members. No formal objections or amendments to the appointment were raised during the meeting.
