District seeks nondisclosure agreement with NCS Pearson to host Pearson VUE test center at Career Academy

Commissioner Van Stone asked what industries accept the credentials and whether the district had documentation showing employer recognition. "So when our students receive these credits... who honors these credits?" he asked. Staff replied they would gather more information from program leads and the CompTIA vendor and noted the course topics include infrastructure, software development, databases and security. The board asked staff to provide follow-up information about credential value and whether students receive certificates recognized by employers before the item moves forward for regular meeting action.
