Cordele community center opens with ribbon cutting as organizers outline programs and partnerships

Cordele City celebrated the grand opening of Cordele Incorporated in a downtown ribbon-cutting ceremony that drew local officials, nonprofit partners and residents.
The Chamber of Commerce moderator opened the event and introduced a lineup of local speakers, including Monica Robinson of the Crisp County Community Council and Doug Dean, the center's cofounder. "Today marks more than an opening of a new business," the moderator said, calling the center "an investment in the future of our community."
Monica Robinson described programming planned at the center, including a food pantry, clothes closet, meeting spaces and youth activities, and said the center could become "a hub for partnerships, outreach, mentorships, family support, and community engagement."
Founder Doug Dean discussed capital projects and day-to-day services and said he and community volunteers would continue to invest time and resources. The ceremony ended with a count, a ceremonial ribbon cut and presentation of an official Chamber decal welcoming the center to the local business community.
