During the July 21 meeting, district finance staff reviewed the June financial statements and said the district ended the fiscal year with a favorable balance of about $600,000 that will carry forward to the next fiscal year.
The report noted four purchase orders processed late in June, a $750 donation from the Ohio Grid Army Youth Football Association to the Ben Christmas Memorial Scholarship Fund, and two advances previously issued to the athletic fund. Administrators recommended a $20,000 transfer to stabilize the flex‑spending plan timing and proposed a permanent transfer from the general fund to the athletic fund to cover the prior-year operating deficit (reported at about $98,000 this year).
Staff said the practice of transferring to cover the athletic fund deficit is longstanding and that this year’s permanent transfer request would align with prior years’ treatment. The board moved and approved the consent items that included the financial report and the requested transfers.
Board members thanked donors and discussed how timing of payroll and calendar year plans affects flex‑spending cash flow.
No additional action was requested beyond the approvals recorded in the consent motions at the meeting.
