He showed photos of work at Lee High School and across elementary campuses and said contractors confirmed compliance with employment verification requirements after media inquiries.
Lopez walked trustees through the work in progress—glass, sheetrock, brick, central plant, theater catwalk installation and multipurpose framing—and highlighted package-specific activity across elementary and middle campuses, plus a predevelopment step at Story Middle School to coordinate with city permitting. Trustees asked clarifying questions about pipeline relocation and schedule impacts; staff confirmed the pipeline work will not delay the 2028 opening timelines.
The update gave trustees a snapshot of committed scope, remaining unassigned funds and near-term milestones; administration will continue weekly coordination with contractors and return with ongoing progress reports.
