Board Raises Jurisdictional Concerns Over Apparatus Ordinance, Notes City Hall Annex Roof Repairs

During member comments the Historic Preservation Board raised two administrative issues. Board member Edmund Deveaux said he continues to have concerns that the proposed apparatus ordinance could improperly "infiltrate into the realm of the Historic Preservation Board" and that the ordinance's scope should be clarified so it does not conflict with the board's purview.
Separately, members noted portions of tile roof on the City Hall Annex were missing and worried this signaled neglect. Staff responded that the City has contracted for the roof repairs. The Board Attorney also reminded members that the Historic Preservation Board serves as one-half of the Certified Local Government Planning Agency and that comprehensive plan and Land Development Regulation amendments are heard by both boards before City Commission action.
