A councilor moved to authorize the New Ulm Police Department to submit a Toward Zero Deaths enforcement grant application to the Minnesota Department of Traffic Safety for enforcement projects during 2027.
Council discussion noted the program has been in place since 2003 and that it has been successful in reducing statewide traffic fatalities. The motion was seconded and approved. The police department will prepare and submit the grant application for the 2027 grant cycle.
