The City Council approved a resolution designating the Pollinator Park and an additional set of parcels as official city parkland. Park & Rec Director Joey Schugel told the council the area began in 2015 as a natural resource area and has since seen significant volunteer development, walking trails, signage and native plantings.
"This is a request to designate the Pollinator Park And Natural Resource Area as city parkland," Park & Rec Director Joey Schugel said. He noted the change is consistent with recommendations in the city’s 2024 comprehensive plan and the Park & Rec master plan adopted in 2026. Councilors and the mayor thanked volunteers by name for their work; the council approved the designation by roll call.
