The board reviewed the annual library service agreement and accompanying policies that must be approved each year. Staff indicated the collection development policy, the Internet safety policy and a request-for-reconsideration form were included in the packet; the mandatory CIPA language was noted as required per the LSA.
A trustee recommended the board consider tightening its reconsideration policy in the future by limiting the number of challenges accepted per resident and restricting challenges to county residents. "You as a citizen are only allowed to submit 5 the whole year or something like that," the trustee said, offering to circulate suggested wording. After discussion the trustees moved and approved the collection development policy and the Internet safety policy by voice vote; no nays were recorded on the audio.
