Countywide summer reading draws record participation as Manchester reopens

Staff told the board that summer programming had strong turnout across branches: in May the system ran 26 programs with 1,379 attendees; in June there were 30 programs with 1,599 attendees. "We had a huge turnout and everything went really smoothly," the director said.
Staff emphasized that the figures reflect activity from two communities being served primarily through one location while Manchester was closed and said the data reinforce the need for both libraries to be operational. The report included counts of take-home crafts, volunteers and worksheet completions; staff said they will provide final registration tallies for prize distribution once returns are processed.
