During the open public comment period, in‑person commentator Harry Stauffer told the commissioners he had previously raised concerns about assessments and then described an encounter with courthouse security in which he said he was stopped, surrounded and removed by deputies. Stauffer said staff asked where he was going and, when he declined to answer, staff "grabbed me, and he took me out of the courthouse, kicked me out of the courthouse." He asked whether visitors have a right to decline to state their destination inside the public building.
The chair closed the public comment time after Stauffer’s three minutes expired. No immediate follow‑up action or formal response was recorded in the transcript; the item concluded with the board moving to adjourn.
