At the June 25 meeting the council received routine departmental reports from fire, police and utilities and were updated on the recently completed demolition of a condemned house at 911 S. Wells.
The fire report listed 12 medical calls, 1 grass fire and 1 combine fire plus a public-relations event (the Flag Day Celebration). The police report noted warnings (including 6 speed warnings) and citations (including 2 speed citations, 1 no driver’s license and 1 no vehicle registration) as well as multiple KBI reports (two theft reports, one domestic violence report and others). The utilities report described recent storm-related outages and repairs, installation of a culvert on Ness Road, replacement of a broken primary electric pole after a storm, resubmission of sewer samples (first sample failed lab temperature parameters), and other routine maintenance activities.
The minutes record that W&W Backhoe & Trenching completed demolition of the condemned property at 911 S. Wells; the utility crew had dropped electric service to that address to allow demolition on June 11. No disciplinary or prosecutorial actions were recorded in the minutes in relation to these reports.
