Pool repairs in Altamont uncover more damage; repair estimate rises to $17,075

City Administrator LeaAnn Myers told the council that contractors from Mid-Continental Restoration repaired pool leaks and discovered additional damage in the pool bottom that was not visible when the pool had water in it.
Myers said crews identified an additional 224 linear feet of cracking; those areas required resealing at an extra quoted cost of $2,980. That amount raises the total quoted repairs to $17,075. Lifeguard training is being scheduled with neighboring communities and Pool Manager Luke Wolgamont.
The council received the report as part of the administrator’s update; the minutes do not show a separate vote authorizing the expenditure beyond reporting of the contractor quote.
