City Administrator Myers told the council that the city submitted a Selection Committee Report to the Kansas Department of Transportation for the sidewalk project; KDOT will prepare a three-party agreement between Schwab Eaton, KDOT and the City of Altamont. The city will work with Matthew Graham from Schwab Eaton for construction engineering, as Karla Waters has moved to another position.
On water and sewer infrastructure, Midwest Engineering is moving forward with design work for sewer improvements under the State Revolving Fund (SRF). Staff member Ben Coltrane was reported to be checking on potential Kansas Water Office infrastructure grant funding. These are planning and design steps; the minutes do not record grant awards or construction contracts.
Council received these updates as progress reports; staff will return with contract documents and funding details as they become available. No formal council action was recorded on these planning items at the July 9 meeting.
