Committee unanimously adds public-health officer to proposed data-centers task force

Chair Evan Glass proposed the change during the work session, saying health risks were a recurring community concern and that including the Public Health Officer would provide clarity about potential health implications of data-center developments. The amendment also specified that civic association and environmental group members or their designees must be Montgomery County residents. The committee adopted that amendment unanimously.
Council staff said the change is comparable to task-force makeups in Frederick and Prince George's counties and will help the county consider health effects alongside economic and environmental analysis.
