The commission unanimously adopted Ordinance 21-26 vacating a portion of Buck Lane between platted 1st and 2nd Avenues to allow future expansion of Fire Station 50. Senior planner Jake Baker described an earlier partial vacation and the city's acquisition and demolition of a structure on the property; staff, utilities and engineering recommended approval.
Commissioners discussed the project as a public-good use and noted prior steps taken to secure the property for public safety expansion. The ordinance passed on second reading without public opposition.
