Senior planner Jake Baker described an earlier partial vacation and the city's acquisition and demolition of a structure on the property; staff, utilities and engineering recommended approval.
Commissioners discussed the project as a public-good use and noted prior steps taken to secure the property for public safety expansion. The ordinance passed on second reading without public opposition.
