The commission unanimously approved Ordinance 20-26 to vacate a plotted but unopened portion of Citron Street that has functioned as a paper right-of-way since an 1895 plat. Senior planner Jake Baker said the segment provides no public-value use and its presence prevents redevelopment of the adjoining parcel.
An applicant representative outlined plans that would make the parcel taxable and supported granting a utility easement so existing power lines could remain in place while the right-of-way is vacated. Planner and staff reports plus the planning board recommended approval; the commission voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance.
