During old business the council reviewed a test youth council survey and discussed outreach tactics to increase participation.
One member reported there are "25 members" and said current data suggest about "25%" of respondents would participate in a showcase; the member asked other council members to review the survey and suggest additional questions or phrasing changes. The speaker proposed a survey closing date of the evening of Feb. 24 so staff could finalize data for presentation at the next meeting.
Members discussed distribution and outreach at school lunchtime events and suggested handing out cookies or other incentives to encourage participation. The city clerk said staff can assist once the council decides its plan and partners to contact.
